Sunday Stash - Winner Winner!

Blogging? On a Sunday???? Whaaaa?

Oh yeah! I'm blogging on the weekend. A truly rare occurrence. It's even more rare that I actually have a Sunday Stash to share with you all!

I've had a bit of luck in the giveaway arena lately. I won two awesome fabric bundles!

========

First up is this gorgeous bundle of Modern Neutrals by Amy Ellis from Amy's Creative Side.

Amy recently hosted #IGquiltfest over on Instagram (IG). (You can check out my Instagram right here or by clicking the button on the top right of my blog.) #IGquiltfest was a week long photo challenge on IG with daily prompts and sponsored prizes. The prizes were awarded randomly. Just luck of the draw.

This gorgeous bundle of fabric was provided by Michele at Quilt Kit Market. So a huge thanks to Amy and Michele for making this happen!

========

Next is the pretty pink bundle that may seem a bit familiar if you've been following along with Color Play Friday. (More info about Color Play Friday can be found on the two host blog's In an Otter Life and Laurel, Poppy and Pine.)

A few weeks ago Color Play Friday was sponsored by Stash Fabrics. Up for grabs was one of two bundles. One of Trina's bundles and one of Lorinda's. I was lucky enough to win Lorinda's bundle.

Aren't these fabrics vibrant! They'll make great additions to my stash. Thanks so much Lorinda for hosting and to Beth from Stash Fabrics for sponsoring the giveaway!

Info about these fabrics can be found on Lorinda's blog post.

Sunday Stash: Dear Stella - Sunday Morning

Sometimes you see a pattern and you know exactly what fabric you want to use. Sometimes you just have a general idea. I know you know what I'm talking about.

Last month I won a giveaway of the Sea Star pattern by Meadow Mist Designs. (Big thanks to The Carpenter's Daughter Who Quilts and Meadow Mist Designs!) When I first saw the pattern I immediately thought of some purple-ish, watercolor-ish fabric I had seen a while back. I know, right? Great description of a fabric collection. Good luck finding it again. After a bit of searching I found this fabric.

This collection is called Sunday Morning by Dear Stella. I have no idea if it's the fabric I originally saw a few months ago but it's EXACTLY what I wanted for the Sea Star pattern. This fabric is not in my general aesthetic. It's not anything I would usually pick out. But oh how I love it!

I've been doing a lot of rainbow-y, color-wheel stuff lately and I'm excited to work on something that isn't basically ROYGBIV. Don't get me wrong, I love a good rainbow and there are still few more uber-colorful projects on the way.

Rather than believe I'm stuck in a color rut, I prefer to think I'm going through an artistic period. Like Picasso's "Blue Period." Yeah, really... that's what this is... :)

Sunday Stash #2 - Lots of Loot

It's Monday. Yes, yes, I know. I'm a day late...again. I like to think that blogging has a certain learning curve to it and I think I've finally learned that I just can't find the time to write up a blog post on the weekend. So, a day late I will be!

For my Sunday Stash (Monday Post) I wanted to share some of the awesome loot I've won lately.

Let me tell you why I love blog giveaways. Yeah, you can win some pretty cool stuff, that's a given; but I really like that entering a giveaway forces me to comment on blogs, to become part of the conversation. It can lead to new quilty/bloggy friendships as well. I've "met" some of the nicest people just because I entered their giveaway.

Okay, okay, it's time for the good stuff. Let's meet the loot!

I won not one, but four, FOUR, charm packs of From Bump to Baby by Gina Martin. The giveaway was hosted by Hilary of Young Texan Mama. If you haven't been to her blog I highly recommend that you go check it out! Anyway, I love this cute line of fabric. It has a great range of color and some darling nursery prints. It also has a lot of geometric basics thrown in there; so if you don't use the whole charm pack, your leftovers don't have to be limited to baby projects. Speaking of baby projects, I have a new niece or nephew arriving soon and these charm packs are going to be perfect for making a special baby quilt! I can't wait to use these.

Next up is this gorgeous set of fat quarters.

I won these from Annemarie of the infamous GenX Quilters blog. You know her from her amazing BOM's. Anyway, she hosted the giveaway as part of Jennifer Sampou's Black and White Collection blog hop. I'm so glad I won these but now I want need more! I don't have a specific project in mind for these beauties yet I'm sure there is a black and white quilt in my future.

Last up is this drool worthy book.

Why yes, that IS Paper Pieced Modern by Amy of 13spools and it is ah-maze-ing! I've been a fan of Amy's work for a long time and have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book. Then, lo and behold, I won a copy from Charlotte at Displacement Activity. It's safe to say I want to make all the quilts. ALL the quilts! Lol.

So, there you have it, my fantastic winnings. I'm slightly light-headed from writing this post. Chalk it up to quilty euphoria!

Until next time,
-Sarah
