Color Play Friday (CPF) is a weekly challenge hosted by Lorinda from Laurel, Poppy and Pine. Each week she provides an inspiration photograph and then the CPF participants create a color palette and a fabric bundle based on the photo. It's a lot of fun and everyone is welcome to play along! You can find out more info by clicking the CPF button on my sidebar.
The photo this week is actually one of mine. I took this on a road trip nearly ten years ago. I wasn't planning on visiting Napa Valley but the notion took hold and I made a detour. I discovered this great winery that was giving free tours and, really, how could I pass that up?!
This photo was taken in the wine cellar. I really loved the way the light was playing on the barrels, giving everything a warm glow. (The warm glow feeling may have been enhanced by the free tasting samples they were giving out. Just saying...)
As much as I love the photo, those warm orange-y yellows are so not my go to colors. This CPF definitely took me out of my comfort zone. But you know what? That's what makes CPF so much fun. Every week is something new with it's own unique challenge. So there you have it - my best attempt at a warm orange/yellow/brown palette and bundle.

I "shopped" at Hawthorne Threads again this week. (non-affiliate links)

I was totally out of my comfort zone this week too. I love that although we both used Hawthorne Threads and were working from the same picture, we each came up with something totally unique! Thanks for playing along with me, and for the great picture to work from!
