Color Play Friday - Hydrangea Skeletons

Hey Everyone! I took a break from Color Play Friday last week but I'm back at it this week.

For those of you who are new, Color Play Friday (CPF) is a weekly challenge hosted by Lorinda from Laurel, Poppy and Pine. Each week she provides a photograph as inspiration and then the participants create a color palette and a fabric bundle based on the photo. It's a lot of fun and everyone is welcome to play along. You can click the button on my sidebar for more info on how to join in!

This week's photo is called "Hydrangea Skeletons" and it's absolutely gorgeous!

Seriously, this is my favorite CPF photo so far and there have been a lot of great photos in that pool!

Here is what I came up with.

There are a few metallics in the bundle; that was a happy accident that ended up enhancing the bundle as a whole and creating a wonderful cohesiveness. I think my palette this week has such a modern femininity to it. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with how it all came together.

I "shopped" at Hawthorne Threads again this week. (non-affiliate links)

  1. Oh, this one is beautiful! And I'm a bright color junkie, so it's surprising to love such a neutral palette. I love how the fabrics that you found mimic the lacy texture and circular shapes of the leaves. Wow!
