Color Play Friday - Downtown Savannah

Hello all and welcome to Color Play Friday!

Things have been a bit quiet around here lately but I'm happy I managed to post for Color Play Friday this week! For those of you who are new, Color Play Friday (CPF) is a weekly challenge hosted by Lorinda from Laurel, Poppy and Pine. Each week she provides a photo as inspiration and then the CPF participants create a color palette and a fabric bundle based on the photo. It's a lot of fun and everyone is welcome to join. For more info on how to play along, click the CPF button on my sidebar.

The photo for this week is actually one of mine. I love traveling and exploring and I took this one on a quick stopover in Savannah. The city was absolutely charming and I would love to go back and spend more time discovering the place.

Here is what I came up with for the week.

Ooh! I just love it! The palette is on the muted side and in a time when bright, saturated fabrics are all the rage that generally makes it harder to find fabrics in this range but I'm really happy with my choices this week.

I "shopped" at Hawthorne Threads again this week. (non-affiliate links)

Be sure to check out Lorinda's take on this same photo over at Laurel, Poppy, and Pine!

Until next time!

  1. And once again you did a great job finding patterns that reinforce some of the textures in the photo! You've also really captured the lovely, subtle palette of Savannah. Were you there for QuiltCon?

  2. Ya'll both picked out good ones to match. As I commented at Lorinda's, interesting how the steps change colors to green toward the bottom.
