Color Play Friday is a fun, weekly challenge hosted by Trina from In an Otter Life and Lorinda from Laurel, Poppy and Pine. Each week they provide one of their photographs as inspiration and then the participants create a color palette and coordinating fabric bundle based on the photo.
This week's Color Play Friday (CPF) is a very nostalgic one for me. It's called "Boys on the Beach."
I used to spend my summers in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) and this photo brings back all the amazing days spent walking the shoreline under a cloudy sky. As I sit here, I can smell the salt in the air. Can you smell it? Excuse me for a moment while I reminisce.

Okay, I'm back! Here is what I came up with for the week.
This color palette just screams PNW to me. You've got the grey for the cloudy skies, the blue for the water (most of it raining on you, lol), the lush greens of all the vegetation in the area, and the earthy browns. I've always said that if I could pick one place to live, it would be there. I'm trying to get Mr. 123quilt on board with the idea!
Anyway, this was one of those bundles that was both easy and hard at the same time. It took me a while to finalize my color palette but once I got it locked in, it was smooth sailing from there. Almost every fabric I picked this week was the first one I looked at, so choosing the fabric went really fast. It was as if all the perfect fabrics were right there waiting for me.

Great job!!! Your bundle is so outdoorsy and masculine! The PNW is amazing, isn't it?! I really do feel like I live in the best place in the world.
